Adopt-A-bArctic-Dog

Our Adopt-A-bArctic Dog Program

Every month, we will post on our social media and website, a dog’s profile who is in need of adoption. The dog will receive a shirt to keep and take to their forever home. This program is very personal to us. Audrey (our brand ambassador) was a rescue and adopted by our President/CEO, Linda Coad. We want to be a part of the solution of helping rescue dogs find homes and hope you will join us!

We recently teamed up with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department — City of Charlotte (CMPD) Animal Care & Control to help them get dogs adopted in our community through our Adopt-A-bArctic Dog program.

Meet Ivy
Sponsored: October 2020
Ivy is a 51 lb., 2-year-old spayed female. She is super sweet, gentle, and very playful.  She is also a snuggle bug who likes to sit in laps and roll over for belly rubs.

Ivy has a large scar down her back.  Although her scar is healed, it still needs protection from sunburn.   Sunscreen is messy and blocks all healthy light. The bArctic shirt will protect her from sunburn, without blocking the healthy light that her body needs.  The bArctic shirt converts sunlight into healthy, cool, red and near-infrared light, which is the same light used by veterinarians to treat dogs with wound healing, anxiety, inflammation, and much more.  We are happy Ivy has a bArctic shirt to take to her forever home which will keep her protected.

Ivy's CMPD Animal Care & Control ID is A1173480.

Call the CMPD Animal Care & Control at 311 If outside Mecklenburg County, call 704-336-7600 for additional details.
Meet Otto

Otto is dressed for cool success and is ready to go to his forever home! If you’re looking for a young, enthusiastic and loving companion, Otto is your guy.

Otto’s CMPD Animal Care & Control ID is A1170880.

Meet Luna
Sponsored: March 2020

Luna is a 4-year-old spayed female.

10/2/2020 Update:  Luna was transferred to the Nassau Humane Society in Florida and still waiting for her forever home.   For the Nassau Humane Society call (904) 321-1647.  The adoption fee is $100.

Luna comes to HSC from Savanna Georgia where she was a long term resident at Humane Society of Savanna. She was great with staff and volunteers and participated in lots of stay-cations and was a total angel! Luna prefers to be a solo pooch, though there may be some dogs out there she likes, so long as she was given a chance to be slowly introduced to them. She’s just 4 years old and has all the love to give.

Meet Tiny
Sponsored: February 2020

Tiny was adopted February 22, 2020!

Tiny is a 4-year-old spayed female. She is a AmStaff X who is playful and loves people.

Tiny arrived at Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC) on January 22nd from another animal welfare organization. Tiny adjusts well to people and new situations and we think she would do well in a variety of home settings! Whether it’s apartment life or farm life, she’s ready for some couch snuggle time and she would do ANYTHING for a treat!

Lady
Sponsored: January 2020

Lady was adopted January 12, 2020!

Lady is a 2-year-old spayed female. She’s a terrier/bully breed mix of energy and sweetness!

Lady came to the Humane Society of Charlotte from another shelter where she was available for adoption. Lady prefers her own company, and wants to be the center of attention so she would do best as the single dog in a household. She greets all people with a wagging tail!
